Twitter

Are you on Twitter?

I've just joined. This is a bit of an experiment because it's one of those technologies where I've always thought 'huh? why?' (but I sort of thought that about blogging before I tried it and now I'm an addict...)

In the spirit of launching a proper experiment, I'm going to throw myself wholeheartedly at this and see how it works. No more one-line Blogger postings for me! I've put my Twitter feed in the side bar so you can easily read what I've got to say even if you're not a Twitterer yourself.

If you are, though - please help me out. I'm trying to follow all the people whose blogs I follow, so please add me so I can find your account! Tips on how to get the most out of it are very welcome, too.

I'm at http://twitter.com/rachelcotterill (imaginative, huh?)

I've not gotten in to Twitter.. I don't know if I could keep my posts to such a short length. :) I tend to ramble.

Yeah someone emailed me a few weeks ago from a blog I follow and now we say hello here and there, it is like a slower less annoying version of the (IM'ing) Instant Message thing of the 90's...

I didn't think I'd like twitter, but it's fantastic because when I want to be random no one knows the difference! :D Tweet you there!

I just don't get Twitter. I don't think I want to be THAT connected... to anyone :). In fact, I think I'm going to have to take a little blogging-hiatus soon... :(

Twitter isn't just about knowing the details of peoples' lives. It also is a good place to advertise your small business, connect with interest groups, etc. I am not sure how to fully take advantage of it yet, but I think it has cool possibilities. I see we are following each other now. Keep it interesting, now... :)

I'll connect to you. But it's true that I haven't really figured out the necessity of Twitter yet. Keep us posted with the findings of your experiement.

Heather - me too, so we'll see!

Chef E - that's a weird feature, that you can send a message 'to' one person but at the same time everyone can see it...

Jenny - thanks for adding me & showing me the @.... thing

Diane - it feels less connected than blogs, at least my blog emails me when someone comments!

Kazzy - groups? Tell me about groups.....

Dedene - I will of course report back once I figure it out :)
