This photograph was taken in May 2008. Not in Amsterdam, but Ottawa.
I was in Canada for a conference, and happened to coincide with the amazing, beautiful tulip festival. It was my mum's birthday so I took a photo on my mobile and texted her by way of a birthday card; I also had this one printed on a postcard to send to my husband.

What a wonderful shot. We've just order hundreds of bulbs including tulips but not sure we'll get quite this effect!
