This is another photo from our grand tour of Iceland in 2006.
It was, as you can see, a beautiful day as we came into view of the snow-capped mountains in the north of the country. The first ice we saw in Iceland! This was just before one of the hardest climbs I've ever done on a bike, to get to Akureyri - which is a town that most tourists reach by cruise ship.

This photo with the clouds in the sky and the road winding off into the distance has amazing perspective. I've always been curious about iceland, look forward to seeing more!
When my brother was wandering around the world trying to find himself he stayed a while in Iceland. Worked in a chocolate factory. He loved it there for 6 months.
Another gem for my list of places-to-be-visited someday!
Iceland has always baffled me. We have a town nearby that was settled in the mid-1800s by Icelandic people. Very cool.
So beautiful and amazing. I can't wait to get out of this country and see the world to this capacity. :)
The name alone awakens the traveler in me!
Great perspective on this picture. It really evokes the open road and countryside of Iceland.
