Scenes from Utrecht

We really liked Utrecht. I was expecting to like it (it has canals) but I was expecting to like Amsterdam, too, and I liked Utrecht more. I'm not quite sure why, but it was quieter (fewer people), and more spacious (wider canals and broader streets), and more compact (easy to walk from one end of the city to the other), and these are all things that I approve of.

It breaks my heart a little bit to see all of your beautiful pictures. I am pretty sure that I was meant to live in Europe. I am living vicariously through you. :)

You are right, it is so lovely. I'm sure I would prefer it too! I have been to Amsterdam on a few occassions, but never to Utrecht and now I would love to see it. Thank you for introducing me.

Judging by your second photo, top to bottom, I would like Utrecht better myself, too. It's a gorgeous image.

Many thanks.

Greetings from London.

Wowee, looks amazing! Those canals are so wide and beautiful.

In response to the comments you left, it goes in the Cherwell (embarassing!). Also, when getting your nails neat all I do is paint them in my usual disgusting messy way and then get a long hot shower once they're dry - it just peels right off! Gross, but satisfying and effective...
