NaNoWriMo Kick-Off

NaNoWriMo is here again! Those of you who were reading around this time last year probably remember this annual period of self-inflicted crazy, and I know some of you are also taking part yourselves.

<<< watch my wordcount creep up!

I beat my target word count on Monday, which is always a good start, but I have a hectic week so I'm not quite sure how it's going to go from here... wish me luck!

This year I'm using my NaNo time to add 50,000 words (or more) to the first draft of Revolution, the second novel in my fantasy series Chronicles of Charanthe. That means I have a civil war to start before the end of the month... so I hope you'll excuse me if I seem even busier than usual! But there will be blog posts that aren't about writing - including that stew recipe I promised you, and even a short holiday to France later in the month.

I have a growing stack of books on topics I think I'm going to need to research, but personal experience is better, so if anyone wants to tell me stories about pregnancy or giving birth without drugs then please drop me a line or leave a comment and I'll be in touch...

I've done NaBloPoMo but never tackled NaNoWriMo -- considering it for next year though. You can tap me for pregnancy thoughts and the first ten or forty hours of labour I did without drugs if you like -- I have children, therefore no pride left. Happy writing.

Give me a yell if you want my input on pregnancy - can't tell you about labour without drugs though.

I'm so envious about everyone doing NaNoWriMo this year. I'm swamped the entire month, so I made a deal with a friend to write as much as possible in the two weeks preceding the actual writing months. It worked well! I have about ten thousand words to play with now, and a whole new storyline! So I am looking forward to reading more about Eleanor and Charanthe; the first few chapters still haven't left my mind! I want to know more! <3

I know a bit about pregnancy and birth, although not by personal experience. But I did attend my youngest sister's birth, and my mother didn't use any anaesthetics other than nitrous oxide, so if you'd like to pick my brain what birth is like from the observer's view; please feel free to!

Oh, and I forgot to say -- that I have every intent to pick YOUR brain in regards to what this information may do for your story. I have a suspicion about where the story is going... ;D

Good luck writing your novel! That is so cool! 50,000 words is a lot but I am sure you can do it!:)

I signed up for this too, although I'm kind of a bit lost and going round in circles a bit! I think I'm going to try a short story more than anything larger now.

I love your word count thing - exciting to see you words add up. Good luck!

Cheers to you! Good luck with this endeavor.

Really, labor without drugs? No epidural? I could not imagine it (smile). Don't swear off the drugs just yet.
