Bedroom (sans bed)
I promised a few more pictures of our decorating project, and we've only finished one room so far, so here it is: our bedroom, before we cluttered it up with the bed and other furniture. I know it'll never look so spacious again! Also, still have to decide what to do about curtains.

Curtains - thin butter muslin / roller blind - that room cries out for you to keep it light at all times.
Curtains are only for modesty or possibly shutting out the sight of rain lashing at windows.
What very thick walls you have. This must be a very old house (at least, old by U.S. standards)!
Gosh, I would not hang curtains, I would find decorative panels of old shutters or glass to put up...I vote keep it spacious! Windows give depth!
Okay that was my two cents :0)
Looking good! Love the carpet colour and the real wood.=)
You have the exact smae lampshade thingies as us!!
A very nice room, I can't wait to see it all finished with furniture in it. I do really love those hanging lanterns! What about Roman shades for the windows, they are always classy looking. Unless you like something a bit more feminine and soft.
Congratulations! You are really going to enjoy each and every project you tackle and finish. This room will be treasured, for sure.
Wow, that's a huge looking room. How about blinds? There are a couple of roman blind tutes online.
It seems a calm and peaceful room. It would be lovely to wake up there with sunlight on the windows. I agree with Andy: something gauzy would be quite wonderful.
I love it!
so when do we get to see the finished room with furniture? No curtains, please...unless you need thin screens for privacy.
Love the windows - and the built ins! Can't wait to see what you come up with!
It looks like a long thin room in the photos, so maybe blinds would be best. It depends on whether the house is actually listed or you've got double glazing!
The shame of the room gives it character, I think I would opt for blinds at the windows.
I love the paper lanterns and natural light. I like the gauzy suggestions for window treatments too.
Wowweee, your house is amazing! Can't wait to see it all done.
What an interesting shaped room. I like the doors.

Lovely, Rachel. Can't wait to see everything when it's all finished (but I really LOVE the ceilings!)
