A Wedding Card

A couple of my friends are getting married this month, so of course, it was time to get out the card-making box. (Not to mention that Mothers' Day is on the horizon, and other friends are expecting babies and birthdays!)

I picked out a simple cream card for the base, and cut a strip of backing paper that I felt went well with it, with a lilac flower design.

The little flower in the bottom left is a satin fabric flower which I bought to decorate my veil for my wedding, in 2008. I had a few left over! I glued a tiny diamante stud in the middle for a bit of extra sparkle. It seemed to fit perfectly between the leaves of the backing paper.

The gold corners were in my big box of stickers; I had to go and buy a sheet of 'Congratulations' messages, but so many of my friends are approaching major milestones, I'm sure I won't have any trouble using them up!

The whole thing took only a few minutes to make, but it came out exactly as I was hoping.

Sorry to hear you have been unwell this week, but guess you must be feeling better if you have been able to concentrate on making this beautiful card.
Love the kindle cover! I have a Sony eReader but my husband is contemplating buying a kindle. you seem pleased with yours. I am just concerned as to what we will actually be able to download/buy in Italy.

Beautiful! You did a wonderful job and there's nothing like giving (or receiving!) a handmade card like this.

What a beautiful card. I didn't know how much could be done with handmade cards. Another craft to explore!

So pretty! There's nothing like the thoughtfulness and creativity of a handmade card. I just bought several hand made thank you cards from my friend on Etsy. You really should consider doing cards on Etsy as well, you really have a good eye.

I've heard that a part of our brains doesn't recognize the difference between giving and receiving, so I imagine you're enjoying the card-making as much as your friends will enjoy receiving them.

I hope the crafting activity also helped you bid that respiratory bug good-bye!

Say hi to Artemis for me. :)

It's quite a bit classier than my 'big hooters' wedding card from last summer. Of course, you have to know your audience. :)

It's very pretty and so much nicer than a shop-bought card!

It's really beautiful, and I never would have known those gold corners are stickers. So refined and elegant!

That is just lovely. I've made a few cards, but they definitely look a bit wonky and hand made (but in a good way). That looks extremely polished and elegant.

I'm sure your friends will really appreciate this lovely, handmande card - it's definitely more special because you put the time, thought and effort in xo

That's pretty. Simple is often best and they'll appreciate your hand-made card very much.=)
