Concrete Curves
Walking between my hotel and the university for last week's conference sessions, the path took me under one of the biggest roads I've ever seen. Or at least, one of the biggest I've seen from underneath. It's quite majestic in an "industrial concrete" sort of way. Of course I had to stop and take pictures.
Meanwhile, from Portland's cable car, you can see what it looks like from above:

I love walking amongst railways and industrial landscapes so don't know why walking under big roads just seems scary. I'd love the cable car though!
Very tangled and dramatic-looking!
How cool! We have something like that in Tampa where our toll road becomes two stories, it's pretty cool.
I suppose it does have a sort of majesty.
Of course you did, and we love you for it!
Reminds me of some of the motorway mess near Birmingham! Also looks like some of the roads in Taiwan where it seems that every major route-type road is raised up on a concrete structure (I wonder if they're concerned about subsidence), complete with tower apartment blocks in the background.=)
Practicality is often so ugly, sigh!=)
Very neat view!
nice photographs!
I especially like that second one. I've heard great things about Portland but never been. I hope the conference was a good one.
