Earlier this month, I set up a new blog just for book reviews, so I'll no longer be posting all my reviews here every month. However, I thought I'd do a quick round-up of my favourite reads from February.
I'm always a little nervous reading a sequel to a novel I've loved, just in case it isn't as good, but fantasy adventure Lokant (Draykon #2) was arguably even better than its predecessor. If you're looking for a unique and compelling fantasy, the Draykon series should be at the top of your list.
For anyone with princess-obsessed daughters, I'd highly recommend Wyndano's Cloak, which is a modern fairytale featuring a determined young princess who's not afraid to get her hands dirty in order to rescue her loved ones. It's advertised as suitable for children aged 10+, but I think some younger readers would still enjoy the story, and I really liked it at 29!
I've also read a couple of excellent mystery-thrillers this month, Inadvertent Disclosure (Sasha McCandless #2) and The Ophelia Trap (Julia Henry Mysteries #1). These both have strong female leads and feature a good mix of adventure and mystery elements.
What's the best book you've read this month?

I'm living in the Egyptological world of Amelia Peabody Emerson, written by Elizabeth Peters - highly entertaining blends of detective stories with adventure stories.
