Patterns in the Sand

Just a few photographs from our recent trip to Wales: I love the way that water, wind, and footsteps combine to leave patterns in the sand. And it's always fun to have an excuse to experiment with light and shadow.

The patterns man and water make in the sand are fascinating. We live in a beach town and we love spending time down by the water. I love the little footprints seagulls make!

I particularly like the reflections in the water!

Beautiful. I love taking photographs with geometric influences. The long stripes in the sand are my favourite.

Gorgeous, This is one thing about the UK that Americans never see, the natural beauty. Thanks so much for visiting us at Grown and Flown. I lived in England for 12 years (hubs and kids are English) and I am thrilled that you found us!

It's funny that you posted these. I was at the beach with the dog yesterday and after about 5 minutes the beautiful pristine beach was nothing but doggy prints, sand flown everywhere as he went for every ball. I thought, I should have taken a before and after photo.

Thankfully the tide will take care of that cleanup.

Lovely photos.
