This looks like so much fun! I've always wanted to try but am deathly afraid of tipping (I have a very bizarre fear of the water, even though I was a coxswain for a crew team, oddly enough).

It's nice to see you let yourself go and have fun regardless of your skill level. FYI, Martha Beck says kayaks are the best vessel (metaphorically speaking) to navigate the changes of our time, so it's a good choice all around!

How cool, Robert and I got in his brothers two seater and we actually rowed out into the bay behind their house and then made it back, we got in on the beach- was absolutely fantastic ride, and I plan on doing it again when I lose weight!

You look like a natural and I am sure you will get back in any seat you try, and will master :)

Good for you! Hubbie and I had our first real taste of kayaking in the Abel Tasman, NZ. We'd never done it before and yet booked ourselves a double kayak and all the gear for a 3 day adventure! We were given an hour's lesson, including how to get ashore through the break waves and back out to sea, a map, paddles and off we went! We had a fabulous time! :) x
